Terms of Service

Effective date: April 29, 2026

Welcome to Aquarify, a community for aquarium hobbyists. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Aquarify platform at aquarify.app ("the Service"). By using Aquarify, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Aquarify. If you are under 13, you may only use the Service with parental supervision and consent. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may not share your login with others or create more than one account per person. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. Aquarify is not liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.

3. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you post on Aquarify, including photos, text, and aquarium data. By posting content, you grant Aquarify a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute that content on the platform. This license exists solely to operate the Service and ends when you delete your content.

You are responsible for the content you post. Do not share content you do not have the right to distribute or that infringes on the rights of others.

4. Acceptable Use

Aquarify is a family-friendly community. We expect everyone to be respectful and to contribute to a safe, welcoming environment for hobbyists of all ages.

You may not:

  • Harass, bully, or intimidate other users
  • Post hateful, discriminatory, or threatening content
  • Share sexually explicit or graphically violent material
  • Depict, promote, or glorify harm to animals, or demonstrate animal neglect
  • Share advice or instructions that could reasonably lead to injury, illness, or death of animals
  • Spam, scam, or engage in deceptive practices
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Share another person's personal information without their consent
  • Share content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Attempt to circumvent platform security or access restrictions

Businesses and organizations are welcome to maintain a presence on Aquarify. However, active commercial solicitation — unsolicited advertising, promotional spam, or direct sales pitches — is not permitted.

5. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you, except where doing so would compromise the safety of others or the integrity of the platform.

6. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time. When you do, your account enters a 30-day recovery window during which you can change your mind. After 30 days, your personal data is permanently and irreversibly deleted.

7. No Warranty

Aquarify is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content on the platform — including advice from other users — is accurate or reliable.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Aquarify and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you have paid to Aquarify, if any.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will notify you at least 30 days before changes take effect via email or in-app notification. Your continued use of Aquarify after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may delete your account before they take effect.

10. Dispute Resolution

If you have a concern or dispute, please reach out to us first at terms@aquarify.app. We will make a good-faith effort to resolve the matter. If we are unable to reach a resolution, the courts of the Province of Ontario, Canada shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
